Heck, when my son was a patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital, they INSISTED you call a uniformed guard to walk you to and from the long-term patients’ family home that was half a block away. Day or night but especially night.

JH is in a regular hellpit. Like most urban combat zones it is fairly safe in the morning while the thugs are still crashing. But when the thugs are away a lot of really pushy beggars and prostitutes come out to play. Most of them won't hurt you. But they will follow you right up to the door.

At least the squeegee kids are gone. Twenty years ago you needed $20 or so in small bills if you intended to get to and from JH withot your car being scratched up.
