John McCain, on a visit to the border town of Nogales, Ariz. with colleagues Chuck Schumer, Michael Bennet and Jeff Flake, bore witness, firsthand, to one of the challenges Congress will face as it attempts to craft immigration legislation: securing the border.
Standing at the country’s Southern border, McCain tweeted:

.308 or 30.06 works real well as a deterrent, or perhaps on a bounty on all illegals caught. But of course that cannot be done but maybe our dear leader should do the night patrol at the border, He could hold a flashlight for them with voter registration cards.

hmmmm. Your FReeper name brings to mind ‘coyotes’ ...
I wonder how much of a cut the likes of McCain and others who advocate open borders and anmesty get from the coyotes hired by the poor Mexicans to help them get to the border and across it?
Maybe that is why so many of the politicians and government officials turn the other way — their cut makes for a lucrative business.

There’s a fix for that. Mine the border for ~1/2 mile in, other than crossings. Make ‘em Bouncing Bettys and Antipersonnel Loads. The traffic will stop. . .
