Reclusive North Korea is to cut the last channel of communications with the South because war could break out at "any moment", it said on Wednesday, days of after warning the United States and South Korea of nuclear attack.
The move is the latest in a series of bellicose threats from North Korea in response to new U.N. sanctions imposed after its third nuclear test in February and to "hostile" military drills under way joining the United States and South Korea.

Had the priviledge to meet a Gentleman (non-Military) on his way to SKorea last summer. He was going over to learn the language and to work in the south.
My Electronic Circuits professor came from South Korea...real nice guy. He did some time in the military. I think it’s compulsory there.
It is. My hairstylist is from SK and her younger brother has been attending college here in the USA. In May, he has to go back and do his two years in the army. Suffice to say he's not very happy about it... :)
Never been to SKorea EEGator. Did meet another nice Gentleman this past summer on his way to china. I asked him to start a coup. He was going over to teach English. Am worried the kid in the North may not have any idea how to run a blackmail scam. (imho) the kid is trying to from the north .. much like his dad used to do. The kid is younger and less experienced. Also has lashed out in a few directions. Not a good set of circumstances (imho).
A few well placed explosive devices and the Norksky Territory will resemble a Bonobo Chimp troop.. If the South Koreans were smart they would bait the Norkskys into making the first move.. and go clean that Hell Hole up..
I don’t know why he wouldn’t prefer the Army in S.Korea over college in the US. /s
It doesn’t sound good.
Yes, it is. On my first tour I was at a combined headquarters in Uijongbu, I Corps (ROK/US) Group. About half of our personnel were ROK Army, including the deputy commanding general and on down. I worked with Korean enlisted, NCOs and officers up at the G-2/G-3 bunker inside the mountain. All the privates, corporals and buck sergeants were conscripts.
It used to be if you came from a S.Korean family of means, you could get your kid into serving as a ‘KATUSA’ in the US Army in S.Korea.

By and large , they were scubs.
Oh no!!! We’re cut off from all the wit and wisdom of N. Korea. How will we possibly manage?
Did you like being stationed there?
Money talks all over the world.
OK. So what’s the problem? Why would they want to talk to them anyway?
They’ve made a ton of headway in 60 years. /s
Sounds like NK needs more food.
I had some USAF buddies who were stationed over there, and they really liked it.
One thing that helps them out is a lack of feral scum in their cities. They also have this thing called pride.
We need to stop pandering to these idiots.
