Watch the movie “Good Hair”. Nearly all African American women have a weave, wigs or relaxed. And I don’t think Moochelle’s hair is relaxed.
“Good Hair” is about the best work Chris Rock has done. A hundred years ago, I did a VoTech program in HS (cosmetology). The instructor emphatically told us (and I will never forget it) “if you don’t know “black hair” don’t try and do it.” Imagine THAT comment being made today?
And for the record, when Mooch first came on the scene, she used her real hair; then she had a “makeover” still real hair with some extensions; the new “bangs” do...wig.
