I remember when Texas went Republican Red, after more than a century in divided between "Progressive" and "Conservative" D.

The only way that could happen in the near future would be the result of Republicans in Congress being essential to the establishment of "gay marriage," or maybe a "pathway to amnesty." Because then the strong Conservative base in Texas (and I mean STRONG) might just give the GOP the finger and stay home, you know?

Oh... wait...

Obama had the highest percent of the vote by a dem candidate since LBJ yet he still lost TX (both times) by roughly 15 points.

No way TX turns blue for a longggg time.
