Rob and Laura Petrie seemed like such a nice couple. The town library is called the Huguenot Library. Rochelle, France was a Huguenot stronghold. About half the settlers in New Netherlands were Huguenots, they even had their own towns.

New Rochelle today is a dump. Just not as bad as the neighboring Bronx.

The Huguenots were BIG believers in the IInd Amendment. They understood the dangers of central government.

It’s getting close to being the Bronx. It’s leftist mayor, Noam Bramson, is a big Agenda 21 supporter and has raised taxes for the past few years. He’s also a candidate for county executive.

It’s a shame. The city is full of history.

Hope the vets make this a big issue.

I lived in New Rochelle when Jimmy Valvano was the coach at Iona..occasionally, when I had a late appt in the office, I’d stop at Frumpson’s for a beer...Valvano, Jeff Ruland, and most of the BB team were in the back...partying..the sainted Jimmy V ran a dirty program at Iona, later on also at NC State, and it cost the program...
