JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Law enforcement agencies around the state are educating their officers on the new open carry weapons law, which is known as House Bill 2. It has been approved by both houses of the Mississippi Legislature and signed by the governor.

The new law allows any Mississippian, who is not otherwise disqualified, to openly carry a gun, with or without a permit. A permit is still required if the weapon is concealed.

The author of the legislation Rep. Andy Gipson of Braxton says it simply makes clear what has been the law of the state since the 1890 constitution was approved.

You’re right. Our state constitution has that flaw in it. We’re working to correct it but it can’t be done overnight. The people have to be educated as to the truth of the 2A, and then learn to accept it. The current uproar over gun control and the meaning of the 2A is helping a lot. Now that pro gun people are no longer letting the leftists’ lies stand and are loudly asserting the truth things are changing.
The people and legislators working to make the changes should be praised for their efforts, not criticized because we’re not getting everything in one fell swoop.

I open carry in Arizona quite a bit, and I see some others open carrying.

As a fourth distinct case, I saw lots of open carriers with rifles, pistols, and shotguns protesting against President Obama’s attack on the Second Amendment.

Apparently Mississippi hadn’t heard the 2nd applies to the states as well, due to the 14th amendment being passed. ‘Shall not be infringed’ is constantly violated by most, but not all, of the states; as well as by the federal government.

Mississippi is a state, a piece of land. I'm certain that 'Mississippi' can't hear anything. She has no ears maroon. Is it simply your intention to insult those of us that live here?

If not, what is the intention of your post?

This new legislation signed into law by the Governor is fantastic for the state constitutionalists.

I notice that you don't have any info on your page. I am asking what state do you live in while you are trashing ours.

Dear mods, does calling this moron a maroon violate posting rules? If so, I apologize!

By all means C12, have a good night and Happy Easter!

You just allow the government to disarm you and it doesn’t stop the criminals.

Q1: Who is "YOU"?

Q2: Tell us all, what is it that YOU don't allow?
