It is my favorite as well. It bothers me that at my church we have sung the Hallelujah Chorus, which is in the Christmas portion of the Messiah, rather than Worthy. The reason given was that our sops couldn't hit the high "A's" - absolute nonsense IMHO.

Some 20 years ago we (Oratorio Society of Washington) performed Messiah at The Kennedy Center with the National Symphony. After closing with Worthy/Amen, I was so high I didn't come down for several hours. Got home at about midnight and could not get to sleep until about 4:00 a.m.

Where are the survivors of the massacre at Benghazi? The silence of the Obama Regime on this question is deafening!

Fiat Justitia, Ruat Coelum!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

If you mean the High “A” BELOW high “C”, that’s AWFUL!

Most of my students can hit the High “c”, even the guys. The “A” should be a piece of cake...unless the CONTEXT and the Vowel are what’s making it hard.

It is strange that the Hallelujah Chorus is associated with Christmas, since it is almost word-for-word from the Book of Revelation, (as is Worthy), and glorifies the Risen and Reigning Lord.

I know what you mean about a concert making you “high”. After something like that, the adrenaline has totally saturated your system. Who can possibly sleep!

And then, there is the Spiritual Aspect! WOW!

So, it’s all GOOD! :-)
