And, unlike iPhone, unless you're actually buying a Motorola Phone, the Android OS itself doesn't put much money in Google's pockets. Samsung, LG and HTC have all done more to promote Android and protect its intellectual property than Google has.
Me thinking Google engineering Android operating system does not cost them billions the way it costs Microsoft. A few years back I read that MS spent a billion on Windows 7
The news about Blackberry’s death is greatly exaggerated.
Blackberry and Microsoft are now fighting for third place in the smart phone market. This is significant, because carriers do not want to deal with a duopoly — they really want to offer a third option. More here:

I’m posting this on my Nokia 920 windows phone and its great. Plus it has best camera out of any phone.
Also windows phone is getting really good reviews. It just needs people to buy it.
