In nearly all countries I have visited, “big business” become whores to politics. Its better in the USA, but we are sliding down the same slope as well.
Businesses HATE competition. And they will go to the government to shut out any potential competition.
When I was a kid a conservative Republican said “what's good for General Motors is good for the USA”.
Now that is the mantra of statis, socialist democrats and (good)Republicans reject it.
