If one of these types really wants to retire early, rob a bank, and kidnap a few people in the process, then plead guilty.

Free room & board; free clothes; free medical, with no co-pays or deductibles; free entertainment....

A good friend of mine went to Yale...and afterward he used to say...if you're so smart why aren't you rich. Of course, he was never rich.

This was in NYC and his case in point was that everyone on Park Ave was a millionaire and therefore rich.

He was a very smart guy (and a very good tennis player--cap't of the Yale tennis team when in school).

But his neediness was so profound that he could only define success in conventional terms...and he was always a failure in those terms.

He was a very nice guy (very interesting) and had a beautiful wife...but he was trapped in this prison.

My point in telling this story...we are all only as rich as we realize...and as poor as our complaints.

Don't complain...you are rich. Strive and care for those you love...and thank God that you are rich!

Adams is always interesting but I fear he treads on the hallowed ground of the “pot is harmless” crowd when he says, “Daily pot use led him to failure......”.

I wonder if being incarcerated excuses you from not buying insurance, therefor not responsible to pay obamacare tax/ penality?

My reason for not using FB. It’s just a place for people to go to insult people.

No mandate for prisoners; they are a ward of the state, and are specifically exempted in the Bill. All health, dental, vision, etc. for prisoners, even when held before trial, is paid for by the government. That is why an injured suspect may be kept under guard at the hospital, but is not arrested until discharged: as soon as arrested, the arresting authority becomes responsible for the bill from that point, onward.

Galt was a piker. What we all need to do is become incarcerated, leaving too few non-government taxpayers to support the system.

Going off-grid only helps you, and deprives the system of hardly a drop; going to prison not only removes that drop, but simultaneously enormously increases the costs to the system.

If faced with a savvy judge, who won’t play by refusing to hand down a custodial sentence, then cuss him & flip him off; he can’t ignore an open contempt.

During the Great Depression, my dad was witness to such. A bum was facing 10 days, but the judge was insisting on fining him instead. He then asked the judge if he could also fine a man for thinking. Naturally not, the judge tells him, at which point the bum told him, “that’s good, because I’m thinking you’re a dirty rotten SOB!” BANG! “30 days Contempt of Court!”

He spoke of the evils of greed, insider trading, and crony capitalism.

Greed, insider trading, and crony capitalism... all three hallmarks of the obama administration!

I fear he treads on the hallowed ground of the “pot is harmless” crowd

Why is that a concern? Is any of that crowd on FR?

Yep, Had a few conversations with’em myself. Adams points out some of their silly arguments for supporting the downward spiral of the moral climate and the self delusion that it is freedom.

I don’t discuss individuals (try not to anyway) but rather the views they express.

I’m not going to do a search for you. If you are truly interested you can certainly do so for yourself.

I didn't make the claim, so the burden of doing the research on the claim does not lie with me. However, in the interest of exposing Drug Warrior BS I did just pore through the results of a Google search on marijuana harmless site:freerepublic.com and found no support for your claim.

I stand by what I say because rather than a superficial word search I actually read many of the threads on the subject. I have no burden to do your research for you.

I've done that too - and seen no evidence for your claim.

I have no burden to do your research for you.

Not my claim, not my research.
