Animal House, to Flounder after the road trip and they trashed his car.
The damaged house in the article is the owner’s summer house. Who in the Moocher class would believe that he should be compensated for his second home?
Again, government should not be involved. This is a mission for the family, the neighborhood, the churches, the cities.
I’m thinking 94% UNSETTLED sounds more accurate
from the government
As any home owner or business owner in hurricane country has learned, you better have plenty of insurance because the government gives its emergency funds to various local, state and federal agonies that sop it up and there is virtually none that gets to the private individuals who have suffered often catastrophic losses.
The dirty little secret in these disasters is that government only takes care of government....with your cash, of course.
I thought federal flood insurance was only supposed to be available for primary residences.
Do you carry health insurance or auto insurance? If so why - if your attitude is just to pay for it yourself. I don’t expect someone without insurance to get a dime, but those who followed the rules and paid for insurance should get the help they paid for.
well he probably lied, “what’s wrong with that? everybody does it”—that’s the eastern mindset
I have to assume since this is the N.E. a lot of these people vote lib/dem down the line.....if so they asked for this...they got it.
He bought insurance
His claim is being ignored
F@$k the rich?
Do you pay for insurance on anything?
Why?
I realize those in NJ didn’t care about Hurricane Ike and the damage in Galveston a few years ago but this same thing happened there. Homeowners insurance argues with FEMA regarding whether the damage is wind related (homeowners would pay) or flood (FEMA would pay) - Some in Galveston are still fighting. “Friends” of the government get in line first and get grants and freebies too...
Government employees must live well up there. They can afford summer houses. And then expect the same taxpayers to remodel them.
Christie Kreme had a photo-op with Zero. What’s the problem now?
I was wondering just how “settled” Obams idea of settled really is...
Settled to Obamas satisfaction
or settled as it should be...
This guy cant get his insurance company to replace his house because FEMA is in control of everything...
In my area we still to this day have people living in hotels from the tornados in April 2011 because FEMA wont release the money to replace their houses...
The hands of the insurance companies are tied..
FEMA came in here and made themselves the first line of help...
so good luck to this guy...
BTW FEMA doesnt GIVE money out...its just a loan...
That's the point of the article. They paid for insurance through the National Flood Insurance plan. Months later, they are still waiting for their claims to be settled.
What??? Are we to somehow believe the photo ops, gladhanding, hugs and looks of concern aren't enough? Is it time for Obama to give another speech?
As a result, the government runs the insurance program. You cannot buy private insurance for this as it is now illegal to sell and has been for a while. (At least it was when I bought my house in 1994 and sold it a few years later).
You don't get coverage unless you pay the premiums. But you won't get a mortgage unless you pay for coverage. As the article says, this is the “National Flood Insurance Program”. It is insurance. The program pays for itself but some years it has to play catch-up if enough claims come in at the same time.
You think he paid $1,700 a year insurance premiums just for fun?
What Obama should do is send Napolitano to declare mission accomplishment and all will be well. After all.. declaring the border as the “securist it’s ever been” is enough.
