NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Videos showing inmates at the New Orleans jail apparently using drugs, drinking beer, gambling with cash and possessing at least one large handgun were shown Tuesday during a hearing in U.S. District Court, accompanied by another video purportedly showing one of the inmates walking Bourbon Street.

The recordings, believed to be shot by inmates, were aired during the second day of hearings on a proposed agreement between the Justice Department and Sheriff Marlin Gusman to improve conditions at the Orleans Parish Prison. It was unclear when they were recorded.

The people of New Orleans re-elect the same corrupt people over and over and over.

When their current terms are up, they run for some other office, and they get it.

New Orleans is no different from any other democrat sh*thole.

“...improve conditions at the Orleans Parish Prison”

Sounds like conditions are pretty good already. What more do they want?

Isn’t New Orleans kinda like Detroit? No. New Orleans is still a fun place and there is still a sizable population of white folks. It also still has some nice affluent areas.

I can’t say as I’ve not been to Detroit. however I did live in New Orleans in the city itself for 14 years, and it was Hell.

I was the victim of crime, my neighbors were victims, one of them murdered, I witnessed a number of crimes including car theft, hit and run, assault with a deadly weapon (ak-47), murder...I mean this is a place I will never return to again.
