Too bad..my son and I used to go to the Offutt airshow almost every year. However isn’t it nice there was still enough money for the Obama brats to have a lavish spring break in the Bahamas and Sun Valley on the taxpayer’s dime or pay $1 million for Biden’s European vacation.

I love air shows. Loved the Offut (and the near by Lincoln) airshows. Grew up going to the base to watch it, and to the old SAC museum.

But if there is no money, there is no money. Airshows are a fluff, and an easily cut fluff.

“because of operating budget uncertainties tied to the federal budget sequestration,”

Correction: Obama golf trips.

Just think, a few air shows, or 9 holes of golf for Obama. I mean, you got to get your priorties straight.

I think McDill in Tampa has been canceled, too.

Rochester NY airshow cancelled too, including the Blue Angels.
As much as I enjoyed it ... them's the breaks.

Air show in Cleveland Ohio canceled this year due to “sequester cuts”...first time in 50 years.

The gov’t continues to punish the people for its shortcomings.

Mooch needs those funds to have Adele and Beyoncé celebrate her for her 50th birthday.

Lame-O.
I grew up within walking distance near Mather and went to every show they had, my dad was a retired NCO.
It was Thunderbirds or Blue Angels and when they went towards each other on runway and missed by apparent inches it was awesome. I seem to recall a lot of sonic booms, too. Back then it was a military community. When 6 B52s did an alert and rumbled around Ranch Cordova to wherever they were going it was the sound of freedom.

Much beer was drunk at the end of the runway just outside the base. Since the alerts were predictable, it was an awesome show.

I always loved the, “we refuse to confirm or deny that there are nuclear weapons on the SAC pad”. The fact that the sign said lethal force was authorized and MP’s were guarding the planes it was pretty safe to assume there was some serious destructive power there. We did the duck and cover thing in an elementary school less than a mile from the base. Yes, I’m sure that would have saved us from a Russian megaton nuke, just a little singe.

I think I saw my last airshow in 92 or 93 and I watched from near the Western gate. It was awesome. It sucked when they closed Mather and McClellan.

Back then I could ride my bike right up to the flight line. The downside being everyone and I mean everyone knew my dad. Then again, they always cut me slack even when I had expired plates, as well as them not even belonging to the bike I was riding and my explanation was obviously lame. My friend whose dad everyone also knew (but was an officer) got a ticket at the same time I got let off and he was in compliance, it was nice everyone loved my father but back then, you didn’t even dare litter on base.

Maybe Obastard can arrange his kids to do a fly-by in AF1 on the way to their next vacay as a substitute.

Keeping the general public separated from the military - no reason to be concerned, Obozo is only looking out for OUR best interests (like purchasing massive amounts of ammunition, purchasing high numbers of MRAP vehicles, building and maintaining FEMA “parks”, developing a “civilian military force” to rival the actual military force, etc).
