Didn't see your state on the lists of Best States to Make a Living or Worst States to Make a Living? Find it below in the full 50-state rankings.
Again, these rankings are based on an analysis that considered: Average wage and unemployment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Cost of living data from C2ER (formerly ACCRA) State tax rate information from Tax-Rates.org The Workplace Environment rankings from the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index poll

I visited NOVA a year ago.
It doesn’t look a bit like flyover country.
It looks like flyover country looked in 2007.
Our tax dollars do a lot for the beltway crew.
What I find interesting is North Dakota only ranks 17th.
Well I can’t say that I am suprised that my home state of Hawaii if dead last. It has been controlled by the DEMS since 1954.
#1 is Washington. Next!
Doesn’t Hawaii also rank near the bottom in education, business climate and racism?
I'm sure the bulk of govt employees in the Seattle area plus their Boeing unionists feel grand about everything since they get the bulk of tax dollars and tax benefits....
I like eastern Washington...rather live here because its stable...secure....decent....but we're not rolling in dough...
So much for Hawaii being "paradise."
Heck yes!
It’s the entire approach that Government takes. You also might note that most of the PRODUCTIVE Government facilities are in Virginia, because that’s where the good techies are.
Maryland techies get paid significantly less even BEFORE the tax load, and, well, economics have caused migrations. . .
What is the ranking of the other seven states?
What happened to the other 7-8 states? (LOL)

> So much for Hawaii being “paradise.”
It’s a “paradise” for those who’ve already made their money and retired in Hawaii, for tourists and other beachgoers, surfers, swimmers, divers, hikers, etc., for “maternity visitors” from other countries giving birth to U.S. citizen children, for pakalolo growers and users — and for the homeless, of course. (I’m sure I forgot to list a few other groups.)
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Nice to see my state of Oklahoma ranked so high
But Washington also ranked #1 in people wanting to kill themselves. The rain is probably the number one reason, but it could also be the high level of drug use, or the fact that grunge won’t go away from the state like it has for the rest of humanity.
