On a per capita basis, homicides in Australia are down by fewer % points than homicides in the US over the same period of time. Howard just doesn’t like guns, and like politicians everywhere, he feels no compunction about lying when it suits his purposes.

Australia isn’t America. They don’t have millions of illegals flooding their country and economy. They don’t have the terrible legacy of black slavery and its segregation/miseducation and welfare plantation addiction.

They don’t have the Russia, Italian, Mexican mafias.

They dont’ have 10,000 members of gangs in one city (LA). They don’t have the Crips and the Bloods, MS 13, MS 18, etc.

They don’t have the forests and plains (on the scale that we do), etc in which legal hunting takes place.

The don’t have violent ghettoes like we do (call them what you will, but many such areas are still ghettoes, trapping the criminals and their victims in a specific geographic area).

They don’t have political corruption on the scale that we do in which politicians are part of the drug problem, as are a small number of law enforcement agents.

They don’t have “Fast and Furious” supplying foreign drug traffickers and killers.

Australia’s Left is more communist than it is Social Democrat, and is just a cloned version of England’s marxist Left.

What Australia does have is a tradition of incredibly brave soldiers who fight for their country, and who I hope will one day rid the country of these out-of-their-minds marxists before there is nothing left of personal freedom.

We are suffering from that now under Comrade Obama and his marxist minions. I don’t want our allies in Australia to suffer the same nation-destroying disease that is creeping marxism.

The Aussies were magnificent in WW2 and Vietnam. They may be the last great hope of freedom ‘down under’.

Hi Yanks,

I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent; Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent!). In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in “successfully ridding Australian society of guns.”

You won’t see this data on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the state Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience proves it. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it’s too late!
