No comparison. Bobby Knight threw a chair onto the court, not at anybody. This guy was throwing basketballs at players' heads; he was hitting and kicking them. What he did constituted assault and battery, on a serial basis. This is not a case of "oh, he hurt my feelings" or other such "wussification". There is absolutely no excuse for what this coach did to those players.
No remotely the same. Knight was intense, but did not run around doing what this guy did.
Not even Knight was caught doing what Rice did.
