everyone has to realize that Medicare, medicaid and all the indigent don't pay what the true cost of running a good ER 24/7....but the law says you have to treat everyone who comes to the door....

we may very well see many smaller hospitals close...or close er services and only depend on elective surgeries...

I lived in So Calif from 1964 to 1993.. There was a very good hospital near me—Northridge.

They had built the best emergency trauma facility in the whole city during that time I was there.

They actually shut down that entire part of the hospital after I was gone due to the high number of gang members & illegals who used the services without paying a dime.

Now—those who had insurance & could do the copays no longer have a facility to go to.
