A new store has opened in Livonia that serves as the Michigan headquarters for a distributor of the "Obama Phone." The Obama Phone is a refurbished cell phone with 250 monthly voice minutes provided free to low-income and disadvantaged families by the federal Lifeline Assistance program.

I saw a big booth set up in a housing project in New Orleans back in November giving these away.
For just $25 a month they can purchase unlimited texts and minutes, what a deal.

We the working and retired have no choice, we get shafted and the losers we elect do nothing.
The thing I find most amazing about technology, is that things that didn’t even exist within the 100,000 years of humanity up until 25 years ago somehow become things that nobody on the planet can live without, and it is especially unfair to the poor to not have them.
I’ve never made a call on my cell phone. I carry it with me in case of emergencies but haven’t had any. The only calls made on my phone have been when I’ve handed it off to someone else to make a call.
But that's only per phone and many are bragging they have 8 or 10 phones. Of course, when some,of Obama's sons rob the place then they'll have all the minutes they want.
A Verizon store near me put out a lawn sign pushing the free phones.
The last line on the sign said, “YOU’RE ENTITLED!”

I still love Detroit. Its home.
