Exactly. I married a foreigner and it took several years, a bunch of money, and a whole lot of paperwork and outright degradation - the INS treats native born Americans like crap - to adjust his status.

Here’s what my Gf went through:

1) Paid, waited for the Royal Mounted Police to create a criminal background check which took 6 months to process

2) Paid/waited for a blood test, urine test/medical test (Yup, i said WTF!?)—and she’s a licensed physician

3) HAD to go back to Ireland to get ANOTHER background check as she was born near Dublin

4) Exit interview: here’s the lunacy—there are 6 consulates in Canada, and EVERYONE has to go to Montreal just to receive their green cards—even though we both resided in vancouver BC.

and these effing mexitards want it all in 1 year..F em all
