I hope President Reagan recorded a eulogy for Baroness Thatcher. It would be wonderful if we were to hear a message from him in these trying times.

RIP to a great Lady.

My favorite Margaret Thatcher story:
The story as I was told it is that in the early years of her prime ministership, Margaret Thatcher held a meeting with her aides and staff, all of whom were dominated by her, even awed. When it was over she invited her cabinet chiefs to join her at dinner in a nearby restaurant. They went, arrayed themselves around the table, jockeyed for her attention. A young waiter came and asked if they’d like to hear the specials. Mrs. Thatcher said, “I will have beef.”

Yes, said the waiter. “And the vegetables?”

“They will have beef too.”

Wonderful. Thanks for the link, JohnPDuncan.

I believe this video taken at Reagan’s 83rd birthday in 1994 may be the last time they were together.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCQweSnnaGs

Reagan thanking Margaret:

“As most of you know, Margaret and I go back quite a ways. We met at a time before she became Prime Minister and I became President. From the moment we met, we discovered that we shared quite similar views of government and freedom. Margaret ended our first meeting by telling me, “We must stand together,” and that’s exactly what we’ve done in the years since—as friends — as friends and as political allies.

Margaret Thatcher is one of the giants of our century. Her many achievements will be appreciated more and more as time goes on and history is written. For me, she has been a staunch ally, my political soul mate, a great visionary, and a dear, dear friend. Thank you, Margaret, for being with us tonight.”

My pleasure... I hope you can share it. There will never be a pair of leaders like this again. Certainly not in my life time and I’m quite young. Sad. We now have “leaders” like Obama.

What a wonderful picture of two leaders, the likes of which we shall never see again. I can honestly say, I have shed tears for the both of them. I like to think of their great reunion in the here after. Thank you to all the posts on this thread....the pictures and comments. Besides the sadness at dear Mrs. Thatcher’s passing, this was a wonderful moment to remember and reflect how wonderful it was back then....I fear we shall never see the likes of those two grand leaders again....I know I won’t, in this lifetime here on earth.

Why this is Sad:

http://english.pravda.ru/opinion/columnists/19-11-2012/122849-obama_soviet_mistake-0/

As Reagan fades in our memory and Maggie passes away today, the government and media of the US has caused Communism to win in the US (Lerma, X, The Pravda).
