Members of militia group suing law enforcement (Hutaree)
ABC7 News ^ | April 8, 2013 | Chuck Goudie

The I-Team has learned that several members of a Midwestern militia group who were acquitted of plotting to overthrow the government are suing the law enforcement officials who arrested them.

The Hutaree Christian Militia was accused of planning to trigger revolution by first killing law enforcement officers.

A year after being cleared of those charges, several Hutaree members are attacking the government on a different front.

ABC7 News has learned they have filed a federal suit against the very law enforcement officers who originally arrested them, charging a violation of their constitutional rights among other things, to bear arms.

Tom Piatek is among those suing several FBI agents and a Michigan State police trooper.

Piatek claims that federal authorities had no just cause to raid his Whiting, Indiana home three years ago and that they violated his right to own this arsenal of guns, thousands of rounds of ammo and combat accoutrements.

Maybe its just me but this article seems to be trying real hard to treat them as guilty despite the acquittals.

Not just you. Doesn’t fit the “template”, so they need to be denigrated and destroyed.

A lawsuit is one thing, it should have been criminal charges. USC Title 18 Sec 242. Deprivation of Civil Rights under Color of Law.

I get tired of repeating myself...

I hope they prevail and financially ruin the LEO’s involved.

I’ve looked around at other stories about this and they all seem to be following the template of Guilty despite innocence.

I’d prefer it if those LEO’s, and the jacka$$es that gave them their marching orders, went to JAIL.

Cash is nice, but justice is better.

Well they did have an “arsenal” and “combat accoutrements”.

That must mean they were guilty, right?

arsenal of guns, thousands of rounds of ammo and combat accoutrements.

Tasteful accessories are SO important.

The amazing this is the fact that it was a black female Clinton appointee who slapped the feds hard and basically made the case for Hutaree members to sue.

Original order to release

“Maybe its just me but this article seems to be trying real hard to treat them as guilty despite the acquittals.”

Your perception is on target.

Let’s rewrite this:

ABC7 News has learned they have filed a federal suit against the federal fascist terrorists who murder women, children and babies while armed with full-auto assault rifles and baby-killer bullets. The plaintiffs were originally arrested by these Nazi thugs for exercising their civil rights.

Jail and their personal pensions taken for the cash award. That way the rest of the community doesn’t get dinged, the people responsible do.

“I hope they get $20 million”
*****************************************************
They’d possibly get over $200 million if I were on the jury and the other jurors and the judge allowed it. I’d hope that these feds would never see a single penny of their pensions—it would all go toward paying the judgement.

It’s unfortunate that the cowardly FBI agent/sniper (he shot and killed an unarmed [if you don’t include the two arms of her infant that she was holding] Vicky Weaver—blew her brains out as she was standing in her front door) Lon Horiuchi has escaped justice in this life.

I suspect that, under Eric Holder’s leadership of the DOJ, Horiuchi is currently considered one of Obama’s heroes and is getting regular undeserved promotions.

You’re not referring to that West Point Honor Graduate, Lon Horiuchi, are you?

Whatever happened to that turd?

"thousands of rounds of ammo"

Didn't that used to under $60 worth of 22LR?
