WASHINGTON — Several Senate Republicans on Tuesday came out publicly against filibustering the first major gun control legislation since 1993 before it is even brought up for debate on the Senate floor, as advocates inched toward breaking a conservative blockade of the measure.

((snip))

“We’re moving forward on this bill,” said Mr. Reid, who earlier Tuesday invoked his own father’s suicide by gunshot to implore consideration of the legislation, which would expand background checks for gun buyers, bolster school safety and crack down on people who purchase firearms for those who are not entitled to own them. “The American people deserve a vote on this legislation.”

I am sorry, but it about time somebody says this:

DEATH to any Senator who votes to take 2nd Amendment rights. Treason can be Constitutionally punished by death, as it does not work "corruption of blood" beyond the life of the convicted.

Infringe Verb
Actively break the terms of (a law, agreement, etc.): “infringe a copyright”.
Act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on: “infringe on his privacy”.

We have to primary all the RINOs. And once we’re in, close the damn primaries!

The GOP can’t be trusted to back the Second Amendment.

Ummmmm YUP. That's pretty much why I left the party as of January this year. After 37 years of loyal service and many donations I have dumped them to become an independent! I must say, I thought I'd be pretty "down" about it all, but I've never felt freer.

Don’t worry: this will never pass. There are a lot of Democrats from conservative districts who will be in tough elections. So calm down.

I say we send the NYT and all of the RINOS an empty shell casing.

Don't. They are sissies who would take that as a threat - it would give them the vapors. Better to be a little more subtle and think about how people who hate freedom would spin our effort. Remember, we are dealing with pure evil; they are not in any way constrained by integrity.

If they cave on this one, I am officially off the grid and done with the Republicans. Never vote again, just let them all go down the crapper with the rest of the country. EVERY important vote, they give in, talk a big game, then give up. I’m done, let the country go full communist, it’s what they deserve. Unfortunately my children and grandchildren will have to fight it.

Here’s some information about about a message received from the NRA yesterday. The NRA is right. The Senate Bill is an improvement over current law that gives so-called mental health professionals too much individual discretion. Tell Senators to support the Bill. It requires more due process than currently exists in law and policies. It requires that more about an accused individual’s mental incompetence be actually proven, and it respects remedies for the accused/cured.

Oppose all attempts to legislate more background checks, BTW.
