Interesting read if you visit the link.

In other news, donors switching from the Tories to UKIP.

Guardian Link

And also UKIP membership reaches 25,000. The conservatives have about 130,000 so a long way to go.

I honestly think next months local elections will be the start of a political earth quake.

I hope so, for y’all’s sake. Wouldn’t it be a joke on us if it’s the US which goes under first. I hope we at least have a shooting war before it happens.

My brother in law went to the Worcester Guildhall meeting, and was also astonished at the turnout. Worcester is a labour city, but Worcestershire is deeply rural and deeply conservative.

This would, God save us, be a proper answer to the horrible fascism rising in Italy and elsewhere—Farage is trying to corner populist conservatism without race-baiting, bigotry, or lunacy (as per fantasies about the Illuminati)—if he succeeded, he could perhaps save Britain—or at least, after the Scottish referendum—what’s left of Britain.

This is just the political elite throwing out distraction tactics. Our local UKIP branch has a full roster of candidates for the forthcoming council elections, and I live in an area that is definitely not UKIP natural territory. According to the regional organiser who has contacts in other political parties, the local tories, labourites and liberals are, as we say in the UK with our superb vernacular, "bricking it".

I expect UKIP is going to do very well in these elections. I still think UKIP MP's at the next general election will be very rare birds, but it is possible there will be some.
