“21 traitors to the Constitution. I’ll do my part to see that pansy Graham gets defeated here in SC.”
Burr from NC voted to debate. Did he turn to the dark side after his dinner with Obama?
Meanwhile the bipartisan and loving Democrats in the Senate are blocking a vote to honor Margaret Thatcher.
so our house is closed and not a peep from the stupid party, then we pay for this house which is closed to us but they have concerts and then the stupid party lets some of the idiots go to a dinner and now it seems all it takes is a dinner ON OUR DIME to vote for this
THEY;RE ACTUALLY BLOCKING A VOTE TO HONOR MAGGIE THATCHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I frigging hate the SOB and their low info voters, I can’t even talk to these scum bags anymore.
We live in two different countries today but alas we have to put up with this crap because our reps have no balls
The Toomey-Manchin Kill The Bill of Rights Bill.
TITLE ONE: GETTING ALL THE NAMES OF PROHIBITED PURCHASERS INTO THE BACKGROUND CHECK SYSTEM
Summary of Title I: This section improves background checks for firearms by strengthening the instant check system.
- Encourage states to provide all their available records to NICS by restricting federal funds to states who do not comply.
By "all their available records" just what records are they blackmailing states for with that statist bilge water? "All" is a pretty big word when only a very few records are applicable to denying someone their right to keep and bear arms.
- Allow dealers to voluntarily use the NICS database to run background checks on their prospective employees.
Does that means dealers can run NICS checks on prospective employees without their knowledge or consent? I have no idea what the word 'voluntarily' means there. Does it mean dealers will be allowed to not run NICS checks if they prefer not to?
- Clarifies that submissions of mental health records into the NICS system are not prohibited by federal privacy laws (HIPAA).
Submissions of mental health records? Since when has it been legal to deny any American their rights without due process? Isn't it required that a person be adjudicated mentally deficient by a court of law to do that? Mental health records are entirely irrelevant except to those court proceedings. This bill sounds like Stalinist purge material.
- Provides a legal process for a veteran to contest his/her placement in NICS when there is no basis for barring the right to own a firearm.
Is that an admission that the Bill of Rights doesn't cover veterans or an admission that it doesn't cover anyone anymore?
And just like that “.. shall not be infringed..” is reduced to a bumper sticker slogan..
apparently...he lied earlier...never heard him utter next to anything ever while a senator...probably couldn’t talk an hour if he had to and most likely has a bladder or prostate problem too...so couldn’t do his share in a filibuster...but next vote he is gonna get plenty of time to work on those things...maybe our new gov mccory here in nc will want the job of senator
And the worst part isn’t the background check. REad the section on transportation:
Im no lawyer, but it seems like this section means that driving across state lines with your side arm holstered would be outlawed. Beyond that, the definition of transportation includes stopping for lodging. So if I stop in Ohio overnight on my way to NC, I cant load my gun and have it in my room with me. It has to be unloaded, locked, and inaccessible. What does that have to do with shooting kids in a school. But oh, we need this bill to honor the memory of those Newtown kids. What a crock.
And it says that they need probable cause to arrest you for a violation of this law, but most state databases have a list of the CPL holders, so that would probably constitute probable cause for a search. And in any case if pulled over most states require a CPL holder to declare himself as such during a traffic stop, probably also enough to warrant a search.
Look at some of the crap in the senate gun COMPROMISE bill the republicans agreed on:
SEC. 128. INTERSTATE TRANSPORTATION OF FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION.

“(1) arrested for violation of any law or any rule or regulation of a State, or any political subdivision thereof, relating to the possession, transportation, or carrying of firearms or ammunition, unless there is probable cause that the transportation is not in accordance with subsection (b); or
“(2) detained for violation of any law or any rule or regulation of a State, or any political subdivision thereof, relating to the possession, transportation, or carrying of firearms or ammunition, unless there is reasonable suspicion that the transportation is not in accordance with subsection (b).”.
(b) Technical and Conforming Amendment.-The table of sections for chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 926A and inserting the following:
“926A. Interstate transportation of firearms or ammunition.”.
What will the NRA rate the “sorry 21” after this vote?
Seig heil,! volks, this is the turning point where the FedMob takes complete control.
The figgin’ bill is called ‘Public Safety And Second Amendment Rights Protection Act’.
That should tell you what Manchin and Toomey think, and where Second Amendment Right is placed.
Moot point—I think the NRA just learned they have absolutely no clout in DC anymore.
I’ve written both the NRA head office and my regional rep to explain to them that if they support any of these treasonous bastards in 2014, I will mail my endowment membership card to them and demand they never send me another communication.
This is a fscking travesty.
seems their power was not as strong as they thought....
these chumps better not be begging me for money because none of these senators will get a dime....
They don’t seem to care much for the 4th, 5th or 10th Amendments either. This opens the door to depriving citizens of all kinds of rights by simply fishing through their medical records. As JTHomes’ post reveals it also creates a legal precedent for significant restrictions on travel which will of course require checkpoints to enforce.
The NRA bootlickers will be along any minute now telling us how great the NRA is in protecting our rights. WRONG.
So will it pass the Senate and does it have a chance in the House?
Is there another vote to end debate on this POS legislation? So these 21 a$$hoes have to vote again on this?
Not sure if there’s a vote to end debate but they will vote on the bill itself. I don’t trust a single one of them to do the right thing. They’re scum.
In 2009 and 2010, the Taxed Enough Already Party made good progress by rallying under the Gadsden Flag. I have been flying mine 24/7 since 1-20-2013.
Looks like I ‘ll be flying The Minuteman Flag underneath it from now to 11-2014.
Sadly, it appears the Taxed Enough Already Party has gone missing.
Tea Party groups must unite. Conservative radio talkers can help us since we see many networks are the arm of the democratic party. The next primary should be a political blood bath. We need to do whatever it takes, to get rid of these people. Anyone out there who has a good background and you respect the constitution, begin a campaign, or if you know of a solid leader, encourage them to run. We have to get rid of these current turncoats because they are the problem. The speaker is our enemy; just no other way to say it because he’s not trustworthy.
mong those voting to defeat the filibuster were 9 Democrats with A ratings from the National Rifle Association, and 12 A-rated Republicans (out of 16 Republican ayes). Two Democrats, Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) and Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK), joined the majority of Republican Senators who tried to prevent debate, much less a vote, on the bill.
You’ll have your hands full, SC voters are so uninformed that they think Graham and McPain are “conservatives”. They will nevcer figure it out.
The poor Republican lawmaker selection is the result of uninformed, even grossly ignorant, Republican primary voters, which some “independents” sprinkled in too.
I would like to know what actions the NRA is taking. We hear almost nothing from them.
Did they challenge these senators? Did they warn them that the NRA will not support their campaigns and actively support their opponents?
Do they realize they can lose that surge in membership (and then some) if they do not stand up and support their membership’s interests?
What action has the NRA taken against the laws passed in NY, Conneticut, and Colorado? What support have they solicited from their supporters and politicians?
What have they done to encourage manufacturers to move out of these states?
HAVE THEY DONE ANYTHING?
Like college faculty, the NRA has been “inflating grades” for years. It’s the failure of hope over reality.
“What will the NRA rate the sorry 21 after this vote?”
That’s what we have to watch. I just do not trust some of the NRA board members, like Grover Norquist. We’ve lost nearly all our ‘conservative’ groups to the dark side. I hope the NRA doesn’t follow suit.
The Tea Party is now a victims association.
Whine whine whine 24/7.
Does a bear... I’d include a graphic representation for clarity but HTML is not my forte.
but how many talk radio pundits actually really get involved and tell their listeners to make calls etc?
Not many because most care about their own pockets and power and job.
I’ve just given up on most talk radio like Hannity, Rush , Levin and Savage are still for me as is Laura but the rest ARF
What a lovely list of BS. I assume the feds will insist that local law enforcement ENFORCE this FEDERAL mandate....you know like they insist that local law enforcement ENFORCE federal immigration law....oops! ....nevermind.
Got a RNC Voter Verification form from Reince Priebus today. It said they needed a contribution to help defeat the Obama agenda. I sent them $0 and a note asking why the hell are Senate Republicans voting against a filibuster of the Gun registration bill. I answered the question by saying they were a bunch of LOSERS.
What’s to freaking support, The destruction of the Constitution?
You’re on the wrong site. That would be Salon or Demon rat Underground. Perhaps the Brady Center...
That’s definately bad but the worste part of the bill is the mental health evaluation requirements- This doesn’t mean that a perosn will undergo a mental health evaluation in person if they own a gun- this means, just like in ny- that someoen will sequester a person’s medical records, OR a nurse or doctor will INFORM the govenrment that a patient of theirs in or was on anti-anxiety, anit-depressents, - anti-psychotic druigs at soem point in their lives, and the police will be forced to go and confiscate guns fro mthat person WITHOUT DUE PROCESS and WITHOUT AN ACTUAL DIAGNOSIS that shows the person is actually dangerous to society- just takign hte meds now is enough to have you deemd unfit to own guns- It’s already happenign in NY and it WILL happen all over the ocutnry as these frigging traitorous republicans ‘compromise’ with the left and violte our constitutinal rights
[[What will the NRA rate the sorry 21 after this vote?]]
Mmmmp- a ‘bad rating’ wil lreally teach htem how seriosu aqbout preventign violations to the second amendfment the NRA is- Hopefulyl they will also ... eeeeek... give htem the stink eye too- That’ll show em
[[So will it pass the Senate and does it have a chance in the House?]]
We just had 21 republicans vote for ‘debatign the issue’ - of course it will pass the house- if that many turned traitor so easily now, it just goes to show that they will do so when it actually counts too-
NO WAY IN HELL shoudl they be even discussing this vote- they shoudl have sent a clear message “Not on my watch” to the left- and they shoudl have been loudly proclaimign right alogn that there is no way they are goign to vote for a violation of hte second amendment- but isntead we have them ‘agreeign to vote’? This ocuntry has lost it’s moral way-
[[The next primary should be a political....]]
how can it be? America spoke loud and clear when they handily and agreeably reelected the worste president EVER for a secondf term- thjey spoke loud and clear that they woudl rather lose their constitutional rights all for the sake of ‘freebies’ promissed by the govenrment than to do the right thing and vote out hte party who is hell bent on destroyign htis once great nation of ours-
I will be compeltely shocjked IF America actualyl does thwe right thing and kicks these traitors and socialists out of office-
Ping for place holder!
time for the NRA to change their ratings system
