The man shot while driving on Interstate 20 in DeKalb county during rush hour has died.
He was driving a Maybach -- a rare luxury car that sells for upward of $400,000. Now, police are working to figure out who he was and find the person witnesses saw fire at him from a white SUV.
"It sounded like a bazooka,” an unidentified witness said about the shooting.

An off-duty Atlanta firefighter pulled over at the sight of the stopped sedan and found a man inside shot multiple times.
He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but later died.
“At this point, we are still looking into the background of this victim and trying to positively identify the victim,” Parish said.

This is an unregistered Maybach? If the guy was in the crime world, he’s an idiot for drawing attention to himself with a car like that. If he’s not in the crime world and he can afford that car, he’s still an idiot for drawing attention to himself like that.

It's kind of hard to explain. It's Atlanta. In addition to all the rappers tons of pro athletes live here regardless of where they play. There's lots of Maybachs, Bentleys, and other assorted high end vehicles around (parts of) town all the time. Now I'm not sure I'd drive one in Dekalb County where this guy was, but he was on the interstate.
Stop being stupid. It wouldnt have mattered if he was driving a beater...he was targeted. A hit. Do you know what that means?

My sister says, “You can only live as well as other people will let you.” In the US, that’s generally pretty good.
As for this being a targeted hit, if it was, it wasn’t pro. An interstate where there might be an unmarked cop behind you is a bad choice.
If I had that kind of disposable income I would be driving something that had a far superior level of protection, at the very least some form of up armor in the door panels and glass.
Too many Obama boys want their share of redistributed wealth they take a personal affront at anyone having better bling.
Something to keep in mind, if it is or looks exceptionally expensive their is a strong guarantee somebody will take offense, and the will attack you.
the only cure for this is to change the leadership of the country or to create a strong image of retaliatory defenses, yes that means methods of counter attack.
Short of getting absolutely medieval with a roof opening and a popup Dillon 134 mini gun it would be effective to have high voltage door handle, tear gas ejectors, extreme sound and strobes.
I especially like the idea of the cattle fence transformer hooked up to insulated door handles.

Yeah but that attitude is defeatist. I can’t say what lengths I have taken, but in essence, I fight graffiti artists, keyers, etc. Your Dad is right... But why not leave the car keyed? I have done so with my old Jags. Why should you not drive what you want to drive because of some jealous bitches?
Interesting that the side glass didn’t shatter completely.
I have to admit that I’m not all that familiar with Maybach details, but most vehicles use tempered glass in the side and rear window, and laminated safety glass in the windshield.
The tempered glass will completely disintegrate if it’s chipped, or otherwise broken. Would not leave bullet holes in my experience.
It appears the Maybach has laminated safety glass on the side windows.
Don’t know if that’s stock or if this particular one was upgraded.
