You cannot “compromise” the second amendment,
it is specifically prohibited.

Anything other than the 2A is the 2A is unacceptable.
The Peter King that I know should know that already.

Awww so cute, a one party State now.

He said the legislation will replicate what was agreed to by those senators, a bipartisan deal that expands background checks for commercial gun purchases, including those made at gun shows." As currently written, it does not expand background checks for commercial gun purchases, it expands background checks for any transfer of a firearm.
This means you cannot loan your shotgun to your brother-in-law for the weekend so he can go duck hunting. It means a son can't his father's deer rifle during deer season. It may even mean that you can't let others fire your gun at the range.

King believes that it will draw significant support among Republicans, That's all you really need to know.

>>> draw significant support among Republicans”
If GOP controlled House passes a House version of Manchin-Toomey (now it seems Feinsteinâs reviving the AWB), they can forget about a significant support from the base.
And no idle threat.

Only two GOPers were open to the bill (King and Dent). Even in the unlikely event a Bill gets out the Senate and/or the House Committee, I doubt the Bills would be identical therefore require conference. Once the conference Bill is complete, 60 votes would still be required to pass in the Senate.

Gee...looks like the Republican house isn't a sure bet to stop it. Who would have thunk that? Golly. Maybe a filibuster to stop it before it got started would have been the way to go.
Oh well. It's JUST a right granted by God and protected by the constitution.

Peter King: NRA rated "D".
Mike Thompson: NRA rated "C+".
Must be absolute communist tyrants, for even the NRA to give them bad grades.

Here’s a compromise -
First, let’s have background checks on presidents.
And presidential cabinet members.
And senators and congressmen.
And presidential appointees.

How about logistics? It is impossible to confiscate 300M (and growing) guns* and 120B rounds of ammunition even if you used every sworn officer in the country and had 50 years.
*Stated another way, 1.8 billion pounds of guns, or, 900 Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. Someone else figure-out how much 120B rounds of ammo weighs.
To: Sir Napsalot
Peter King is no less of a traitor than Toomey and any other politician that works toward compromising the second amendment.
If tens of millions of People do not find a way to stand up against these bastards and decisively end this attack, we will most certainly lose our rights.....soon.
Imagine... if the number of folks that watch American Idol were to stand for their country, all at the same time, this garbage would come to an immediate halt.
