Audrie Pott, the 15-year-old California girl who killed herself after photos of her alleged sexual assault appeared online, felt "tortured" by the experience of being betrayed by suspects whom she once considered friends, the family's attorney, Robert Allard, said today.
"We have Audrie's words that reveal just how tortured she was," Allard told ABCNews.com of her online comments.
"Over the week that followed, she was literally tortured by the knowledge that people she thought were her friends were passing around photos of what took place," he said of the allegations.
In the week after the alleged assault last Labor Day at a gathering at a friend's house, a humiliated Pott, according to Allard, posted messages on Facebook, saying, "My life is ruined."
Allard said Pott also posted, "This is the worst thing ever" and "Those guys put 'blank' inside of me," not providing details.
Three 16-year-old boys were arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual battery in the assault on Pott while she was passed out at a party, according to the Associated Press.
Santa Clara County police have not responded to numerous requests for comment. Authorities have not publicly identified the boys because of their ages.
"Based upon the discussions with the police officers, at least one picture was disseminated extensively," Allard said. "There was enough within that to demonstrate that a sexual assault had occurred between multiple boys."

And the idiots who blame the girl should be whipped - EVERY teenager gets drunk at house parties. You’re in denial if you think otherwise. However, getting raped is beyond the pale. This little girl probably had 2, MAYBE 3 Bud Lites and was out like a light.
I spoke with a friend yesterday, he has two young ones, the youngest is his girl, 7. We are in agreement: If this happened to our daughters, it would be time to go “Law Abiding Citizen” on the perps AND their parents.

I agree, she was only 15 and is now dead, give her a break, arseholes. And she was among "friends", what you might be forgiven for thinking is a safe environment to get trashed in.

My God, the number of times we got blitzed in HS and College...no one ever thought of raping (and more?) a passed-out girl.

If they did just rape her (I think it’s not clear whether they actually raped her), at least I could understand their motivation.
What we know they did was strip her, draw on her, stick objects in her, and take pictures of it to humiliate her. Nice “joke” to play on a “friend”.

Well, it starts with being passed out at a party. Lack of self-control amongst the whole crowd, breaking the law, etc. Growing up in an environment where you’re told that actions have no consequences and there is no right or wrong. Not blaming the girl but she and her “friends” exhibited poor judgment all day long. So I guess I’ll blame the parents who raise these idiots.
