I live in a very friendly neighborhood, and it’s not uncommon to find a plate of cookies, or some banana bread or even a loaf of whole wheat bread in front of our door. We return the favor, naturally - cookies, pie, apples from our yard - etc.

But, we ALWAYS include our name when we drop food off; and we ALWAYS find out who the food came from before we eat it ourselves. If we can’t determine where the food came from, it goes from our front porch into the garbage can.

There are evil people in the world, and this is a very simple, basic rule that even a child should know. I find it staggering that a Sheriff would do this. This basic level of common sense being overlooked makes me question his ability to perform the most basic part doing his job effectively - like cleaning his pistol or driving his car. If my Grandkids pulled this stunt, I would give them h*ll. As an adult .... to say he should have known better is a gross understatement.
