Yankee Ingenuity Meets A Ban: Effort To Redesign AR-15 Underway
Hart\ford Courant ^ | April 13, 2013 | Dan Haar

Posted on 04/13/2013 1:40:19 AM PDT by Daffynition

As Mark Malkowski watched Gov. Dannel P. Malloy sign the gun control bill into law on April 4, he sat in his office with three military-style rifles.

Nothing unusual there, since Malkowski’s New Britain company, Stag Arms, makes the AR-15-style guns. But one of the black weapons was a bit different – it had a sawed-off pistol grip.

The de-gripped rifle was the first go-around in Stag’s effort to design a gun that’s legal for sale in Connecticut, and still has the core of the AR-15, the wildly popular type of rifle that represents fully one-quarter of all firearms sales in the United States.

Even as he considers relocation offers from Texas and other states, he’s moving ahead in the time-honored tradition of factory managers and engineers, solving the latest problem.

“Don’t dismiss the creative minds of manufacturers. We’re entrepreneurs, we’re job creators and we will do what we have to do to succeed,” he said, minutes after Malloy signed the bill.

On that day of grimness for this 10-year-old business with 200 employees, the gun with a lopped handhold might have seemed nothing more than a symbol of protest. But now, more than a week later, Malkowski reports progress.

“I’m currently working with some prototypes that may be something that would be available for Connecticut citizens,” Malkowski said. “It’s still early in the development.”

The effort to be made is to purge the Neo Europa Yankees from the union. They are no longer really Americans and must be booted out.

Pretty cool, but it’s a little unsettling seeing the links upside down like that.

That’s because the belt is fed below the bolt, not above it.

I can see why they’d do that. The AR will hot-fire full auto when the chambers hot. Went thru many clips that way at the end of range duty on a few occasions at the Graf. Of course I borrowed someone else’s rifle first....

It won’t do a damn bit of good. They will just enact a more restrictive law. Whether the legimate gun owners what to face the facts or not, the plane, pure unalduterated, unvarnished thrth is: The Socialists, a/k/a Democrat Party has plans to put you in one of two places:1. the graveyard should you resist. 2. In prison should you comply.

That gun is banned in CT because it is a centerfire rifle with detachable 10+ round magazine and a flash hider.

FUBO and FUDM and F*CT

Why go and reinvent the wheel when the present design is just about perfect?

These companies should be telling these governors to “F”Off.They want to turn our guns into what are cars are becoming.Government designed pieces of crap that will fall apart before the last payment is made and kill you In the slightest accident.

Oh!I almost forgot about all of the individual mandate fuel’sto run those vehicles.

Don’t surrender to these government thugs. They work for US.

We also have a few Stags, .556s & 6.8s and just luv them. I hear they are working on a light weight 308 AR platform; now that will go over with everybody. I picked up a 338 fed Armalite, just too heavy; like an M-14. Then last fall, got a 308 Scar 17; now that gun fits me fine.

Here in Alaska, people hunt with ARs and all the old military rifles. Nothing better than an AR with 16 inch barrel & collapsible stock for around your neck on snowmachine or 4 wheeler. Throw an acog on and you got the quickest shooter on the fly gun you'll ever find. Course, I'm a shooter not an aimer though.
