ESPN said that sources confirmed to the outlet that two drivers have been advised by their PR people not to conduct interviews in the Texas Motor Speedway media center in order to avoid the NRA logo from appearing behind them.

The move is just the latest in media hysteria that has resulted from the NRA sponsoring Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race, the NRA 500.

ESPN “reported” that two teams said stay away ... I’m not buying that somewhat ... BUT ESPN has the cameras and no cap gun tradition ... I think Edwards was being interview at that time ...

This kind of nonsense gets NASCAR into trouble all the time, simply because of the sheer number of sponsors involved in that spectacle.

A typical scenario involves a driver sponsored by Coca-Cola winning a race like the Pepsi 400. Watch the gyrations that NASCAR, networks, drivers and team owners go through during the post-race interview in competing attempts to shove these sponsors' logos in front of the television audience.

Yeah, I think it is time to be offended by Beer sponsorship of NASCAR. Drunk driving kills thousands every year yet NASCAR parades Beer ads around on cars. How offensive is that? I wonder how NASCAR would like the shoe on that foot?

Don't give anyone any ideas.....I would have no problem with that IF it were done by NASCAR and not the federal government, as was done with the tobacco industry - without which sponsorship several pro sports would never have gotten where they did.

It was neither; it was the PR people from two individual teams who told their own drivers to avoid being seen with the NRA logo. It was not a Nascar statement, nor was it an ESPN statement. The whole thing is about individual teams choosing to try to stay out of the controversy, possibly due to sponsorship concerns. Look around and see which product sponsors are more likely to be worried about the political fallout and you will have a clue to which teams it was. Either way it was their decision to make and NASCAR had nothing to do with it.

So, are we going to see NRA members required to use different drinking fountains, separate restrooms, and seated in different parts of restaurants in the near future?

I’d be repainting my car with nothing but NRA logos and not charge them a dime.

The France family who owns NASCAR has been shooting themselves in the foot a lot of late.

More empty seats to come.

Watched the race on FOX, noticed the lack of NRA mentions all the way around.
No tinfoil needed on this, it was bleeding obvious.
Want to see how this shakes out, but pretty damn disappointed in all involved right now.

There is no longer a news media in this country. No mention of the NRA at a race that bears their name; no coverage of Gosnell’s House of Horrors; no coverage of the failire of Benghazi. Endless coverage of Trayvon and Newtown. All Pravda, all the time.

When wrestling entertainment has more legitimacy than professional sports... it speaks poorly for America.

Understood but NASCAR embraced obama and the entire globull warming crap with their ethanol move and also their White House appearences. I have no doubt these days as to why NASCAR runs straight and always turns to the left.

NASCAR white house appearances go back to Reagan at least. In fact I believe it was Reagan who pardoned Junior Johnson for his moonshine conviction in the 40s.

Yes but IMHO enabling treasonous enemies of freedom by loaning legitimacy to them with their product placement at the White House, is not IMHO in keeping with the wishes of their consumers. NASCAR has done much more than having a meet and greet at the White House and like I stated before... promoting ethanol and its damage to not only cars but America’s energy and food supplies... is absolutely bordering on criminal. You watch NASCAR and enjoy it my friend... I will not be part of it any longer.

NRA defends Constitution’s 2nd Amendment

ACLU (founded by communists) attacks & weakens the Constitution

So ACLU is praised and NRA is demonized.

Truly we are in the end times...
