Don’t you know... already the dems in congress are already proposing two new laws that will ABSOLUTELY keep us safe. The thus stated laws are:
1. A bomb can only have a maximum of one stick of dynamite (no one needs more than that for a terrorist act.)
2. There is to be established a national registry and background checks for ALL bomb makers. (and NY state will confiscate all of your bombs if you mellowed out with ANY medicinal substance - excluding, of course, pot.)

From the amount of smoke, it may have been a black powder explosive device. And even though black powder is never used by most gun owners, they will decide that modern gun powder, which is NOT an explosive, must be regulated heavily.
