I used to go into Boston every day. Seeing someone get handcuffed on the Boston Common was an every week occurrence.

Your version would make it clear that Lola is a man, which would take most of the fun out of the song. :-)

cops when there is trouble,no cops if there isn’t,just like anyplace else.
