In Obama’s amerika you can enjoy the freedoms he wants you to have but no more than that.

No, it’s not free. Regrettably, our youth will never know real freedom.

Well, I disagree! Whatever the duress, the spirit and attitude of freedom persists in the two generations that follow me, according to my own observations.

Despair not!

Yes it is but “free” now has an entirely different meaning than the one we knew.

As a long time Freeper, I left the USA shortly after 911. I saw the rights and liberties eroded with such impunity that I no longer could bear it. So, I sold most of my belongings, liquidated what little savings that remained and moved to a different country where I could experience life autonomously and freely.

I moved to Communist China.

Oh, such rejection! Such malalignment, I endured! How could anyone ever want to go to a communist nation! Why! Maybe, if I were a liberal, this would make sense, but not I! No! I am a Libertarian!

So, I fled the USA and I have been living here for years now.

What do I think?

Freedom is not what you might be able to do. Freedom is how you do live your life. Many Americans like living in the USA because it is “safe”. You must wear a seat belt - Safe. You can’t smoke in public - safe. You have to have your e-mails monitored - safe! You must have your bank accounts monitored to prevent fraud - safe!

But, like Michael Jackson, who (over a period of time) had one operation here, then another one there, eventually woke up and looked at himself in the mirror and saw a monster. So is the USA today.

Let’s not parse the benefits of a Constitutional Representative Republic over that of a Single Party - Communist - Social Republic... No. I just want to talk about day-to-day life. Which is better...?

(1) The first thing you notice about leaving the USA is how nice and kind other people are. It is as if a dark cloud has lifted from your shoulders. No longer are the stewards and stewardesses big burly men and women who go through the motions on the plane. They are attractive and kind young women, and you are treated with respect.

On the plane the meals are free. And they are meals. Not, just a bag a peanuts or pretzels. When you leave the USA and pass customs, that is the last glare you ever see. Entering China (or any other country) the customs agents are kind, smiling and polite to you.

(2) The second thing you notice is that you NEVER have to show your identification for anything. Think about it. How often do you, as an American, have to show your ID? When you pay by credit card, or debit card. When you buy beer, or cigarettes, or when you enter or leave a government building. In China you NEVER have to carry ID or show it to anyone. EVER! Try this test, ... try to see how long you can live without showing who you are to someone in the USA. Try it!

(3) The third thing that you notice is that people and police LEAVE YOU ALONE. The police are mostly playing on their iPhones, or chatting with a pretty girl. They aren’t standing there looking you over, or cruising behind you looking to pull you over. YOU NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT.

(4) You have freedom. All kinds of freedoms. The first freedom you have is the ability to engage in unhealthy activity. You can drink... anywhere. No age limits, no time limits. No location limitations. You can smoke and drink at any meal with impunity. It might not be healthy, but it is freedom. THAT IS WHAT FREEDOM is all about.

(5) In a country without an excise tax, you see how much damage this “hidden” tax does. An excise tax on farms, gas, and purchases all add up incrementally. Because of it, you have to pay much more for food and items than you would other wise. A good way to calibrate and see the influence of these hidden taxes is on the price of tomatoes.

How much is a tomato in the USA? When I left ten years or so ago, a single tomato might cost you a $us 1.20. Today, I bought a bag of 25 medium size tomatoes. It cost me $us 0.65. Sixty five cents for 25 tomatoes. But, because of all the excise taxes in the USA you have to pay a full dollar for a single tomato.

Look... I can go on and on about this. China has problems. So does the USA. But I stopped fighting the good fight. For me, it’s over. I fought against the Clinton crime machine in the 1990’s and I lost. I was punished for it terribly. And so I left the country. IT’s a price you must pay.

I hand the reigns over to others to fight for. I am now, quite crippled after dealing with the Clinton syndicate, and now licking my wounds in absentia. I may never return to the USA police state.

I urge everyone to keep up the good fight, but learn from me. Those you are fighting and railing against are POWERFUL. Freedom and Liberty are worthwhile things, but there are powerful people whom want to take it away from you...and will.

Good luck.

REVISING... (nod to Secret Agent Man)

Many events have added to the “no” to the land of the free. AMong the worst (not all):

Civil War (federalism) - Usurpation of the 10th Amendment

1913 Federal Reserve Act / 16th Amendment - Income tax

1920 Prohibition (rise of organized crime, 2A losses)

1930s gold confiscation

1930s social security program (ponzi scheme)

1940s internment of Americans in Prisons for Heredity. / Withholding / Rise of independent policing of the IRS

1960s great society programs (wealth redistribution, breakup of american families) / war on drugs / war on poverty

1970s - present war on drugs - swat use to terrorize regular criminals, not hardened drug houses and gangs, confiscate people’s entire property, rise of prison state / black budget for military and classified programs

1980s - present Christians losing right to be Christians in all areas of their lives

1990s - present legal push for protected classes of citizens that are “more equal” than regular citizens because the government favors them. / right speak / programs to protect the children

2000 more restrictive gun laws based on emotional response - 1986, 1994 / data collection / internet monitoring

2010s - patriot act, creation of tsa, dhs, making glorified baggage handlers “officers”

- can’t use your land the way you want
- can’t modify your house the way you want
- can’t live your religious values in all areas of your life if you’re Christian

No, we are not the land of the free.

The only enumerated right left untouched is to be free from quartering soldiers in our homes. But that is likely only because the Federal government has seen no utility in it.

You've been very fortunate in your observations.

“If we can tell people that we want to foster a system where they can live their lives as they choose, prosper in their own way without interference, and peacefully interact with those around them, we can win the argument.”

No we can't, not anymore. A majority of Americans will not even understand those ideas.

The above statement lacks the magic phrase, “Free Stuff”. A majority of Americans now prefer free stuff over freedom. A majority now believe the gubmint is there to house, feed, entertain, & protect us from all evil & ill. They believe the gubmint knows better how to run their lives than they do. “Just tell me what to do & I will do it for the free stuff”. That is so much easier than having to think & do for yourself.

In a debate where one side offers houses, food, & phones, while the other side offers intangibles like freedom, choice, & privacy; voters indoctrinated, but not educated in gubmint schools will choose the freebies every time. They are too ignorant to know any better - the gubmint schools make sure of that.

The amoral socialists have won & continue to win. With every session of Congress or any lawmaking body, massive laws are now passed without being read, criminalizing & taxing every aspect of living in the USA.

Do you realize that for every new law & regulation passed, someone, usually many people, loses their rights, often forfeited to someone else? New laws RARELY grant new liberties. Their primary purpose is to criminalize and/or tax previously legal, tax free activity.

If the tyranny & government sponsored theft of today is any indication of the future, then it wont be too many more Congressional sessions before we are all criminal slaves of the ruling class.

An analogy I have often used:

Imagine a game of Monopoly, but different. Every time a player passes GO he MUST make a new rule - any rule he wishes. The game would end quickly from the chaos of the new rules.

Likewise, our Congress can pass ANY rule it wants, as can the President, as often as they choose. The AG Holder can ignore any laws & crimes he wants. They can all tax ANYTHING & EVERYTHING! Checks & Balances are GONE! Rule & respect of law is GONE, as exemplified by our corrupt “leaders”. Voters are willing dupes.

It's no longer a question of if the game will end in chaos, but rather, how soon? For me, the sooner the better.

To the applause of many alleged "conservatives."

If they were used the way they were sold to the public it would have been a different story. Going after hardened drug houses, going after large gangs, actually destroying the gang houses and gangs.

They did not. They went after everyone BUT them.
