President Obama can't see how Congress could buck public opinion to vote against new gun laws, he said in an interview released Tuesday.
“The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown I think is unimaginable,” he told "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie in an interview conducted before Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon.
The Senate is expected to vote on gun legislation later this week, though it's not yet clear whether there will be enough votes for it to pass. Obama has been calling lawmakers to try to convince them to vote in favor of tougher gun laws, The Associated Press reported late Monday.
In the budget released last week, Obama said he offered Republicans a “realistic compromise."
“It does not give Republicans everything they want. Frankly, it doesn't reflect everything that I would like to see,” he said. “What it does is it puts forward some of the ideas that Republicans had suggested around entitlement reform that I think are reasonable policy.”
Hence, the quotes.

What’s “unimaginable” is that a President of the U.S. would advocate for infringing on the God-given and constitutionally affirmed rights to self defense and protection from a tyrannical government... at least until this @ss-wipe showed up. Wake up, people! We must fight his efforts at EVERY turn.

Folks- the reason why the republicans allowign htis to even go to vote was such a treasonous act is beccause once the left gets their foot in the door- as we KNOW for FACT- they then come out with hteir asinien ‘zero tolorance’ policies which suspends and expells young children for pointign hteir finger ‘like a gun’ for bringign bubble guns to school, for sayign common everyday things liek ‘drop dead’ or soem such nonsense

And ten years ago it would have been unimaginable that Americans would defy Congress on guns -- not saying that we were willing to roll-over for them, but that they wouldn't have dared to try pushing it -- and it gets even more stark at fifty/sixty years ago, where if the congress was doing what congress is doing now, there would have been hangings.

If you leave ‘Remember Me!’ checked you will only have to fill it in once. Then you can return and send it quickly multiple times a day. Let’s say, every time you read some 2nd Amendment news that you don’t care for.

Now that is an interesting question: will the gun bills fail? There was a lot of certainty that ObamaCare would fail, but it did not; then we were told to wait for the USSC challenges, and they declared it Kosher... we could be in a similar situation -- it may well lead to bloodshed.
