Roommate defends Saudi Arabian man questioned in blasts: 'I don’t think he could do that,’ says man

REVERE - The roommate of the Saudi Arabian man whose apartment was searched by Boston Marathon bombing investigators today said he doubts his friend played a role in what Governor Deval Patrick today called a terrorist attack.

“I don’t think he could do that,’’ the roommate told the Globe.

The roommate described the man as a devout Muslim who is 20 years old and a fan of soccer. He said the man is from the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The man is in Boston attending an English language school in greater Boston, the roommate said, who added that he last saw him on Sunday.

The roommate said law enforcement suddenly appeared at his door on Ocean Avenue late Monday night and asked him to step out of the unit. Police were still at the apartment this morning.

The Saudi Arabian man is at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, apparently being treated for injuries following the double bombing at the finish line on Boylston Street Monday afternoon.

An official briefed on the investigation said police had questioned the Saudi man about the bombing, but he has not been charged with any crime.

The roommate will demonstrate a pig flying demonstration this afternoon to show how knowledgeable and credible a source that he is.

With a nod to leftwinger Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers music... You did employ the tune nicely. One does wonder who will be found to be behind this attack.

The roomate may also be a student of the language school... and probably only knew him for a few weeks. These schools often rent and place the students in furnished apartments together for the duration of the course, or rent out furnished rooms from people wanting to host an international.
Would he be able to tell the guy was a potential terrorist? Probably not, I’m pretty sure the alleged perp would be on his best behavior.

Why would this guy hang around so close to his explosives? Close enough to get burned.

The method of operation for Islamic Terrorists do include suicide but generally those type of bombings include the terrorist roaming around during the bombing with a gun in hand upping the kill factor while shouting a few snack-bars.

I think this guy was just in the area and not involved.

I also find it very odd that no jihadi group has claimed credit. That almost always happens very soon after an operation. Jihadi’s must claim credit to keep their fund raisers happy and recruitment up.

Why would a Muslim group claim responsibility? First- the Muslim president isn’t going to DO anything. 2nd-The Muslim president WANTS to blame the terrorists enemies-US- Tea Party , conservatives- the people who want Obama out. So if you’re a terrorist group you LET him. It’s a win-win.

.....”I think this guy was just in the area and not involved”.......

Me too...but they are not going to “leave any stone unturned” and are going to :show: they are being effecient at this.....and would include this guy who I suspect was afraid he’d be suspect so ran.

Also we know that media will be hot on the tails of all...and known to create stories where there are none.

#1...Yes, this man's house was on the beach, but the town is Revere, deemed by FREEPER Vermontlt (& I'm sure others) as a "dump": Post #30 - BREAKING: Federal Agents Search 5th Floor Apartment in Revere, MA BREAKING: Federal Agents Search 5th Floor Apartment in Revere, MA

And as far as schools renting out places, do they rent out places that "the people on apartment ratings say it's a dump filled with prostitutes and druggies." ??? (Per Freeper Moonman62, post #37 from a thread last night: BREAKING: Federal Agents Search 5th Floor Apartment in Revere, MA)

FREEPER The KG9 Kid was even more specific when he/she gave 2 ratings' links for this place -- on the same thread...post #55:

Per The KG9 Kid: Waters Edge Apartments reviews on this apartment ratings site says its a Section 8 hellhole: broken elevators, Hoes turning tricks, junkies shooting up, rats, filth, no security, robberies, etc. Another site dedicated to how lousy this run down apartment building is says that the place is known for not doing credit checks or background verifications on prospective tenants.

Sorry, nice try, Katya. But doesn't sound like the kind of place a university would "rent out" -- if only not to be associated by bad reputation...

You know if you look at the Mormon movement, Joseph Smith was dead 13 years before THE ORIGINAL 9/11 terrorist attack in this country -- when Mormons under Brigham Young's helm slaughtered 120 children, moms & dads in the Mountain Meadows Massacre (MMM)...which was taking place on Sept. 11, 1857.

My point tho isn't so much to focus on the MMM as to realize how many splinter-break-off groups there has been from mainstream Mormonism... including some VERY small barely hanging on ones. Many Mormon splinter cultists were taught in the ways of establishing a cult by Joseph Smith; likewise, a Saudi student wouldn't even need to have a formal tie to a terrorist group to commit such an act.

A Saudi could watch Zero Dark Thirty; become pissed off over Bin Laden's "accountability 'party'," and could take action solo minus broader linkages.

The point is that terrorists set ALL kinds of examples without having to micro manage every evil act out there -- much the same way that Satan & his minions have set out ALL kinds of mayhem, evil, wickedness without having to micro-manage everybody else's acts of sin & violence.
