Preliminary investigation at JFK Library plays down possibility of explosion [Pre-3 p.m. fire]

A fire and possible explosion this afternoon at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum prompted a full-scale investigation by local, state, and federal authorities to determine whether the incidents were linked to the deadly Boston Marathon blasts.

This afternoon, Police Commissioner Edward Davis said a preliminary investigation indicated that the JFK incident may not have been an explosion.

The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. — around the same time as the Marathon blasts several miles away — in an HVAC system in a section of the complex opened in 2011 that houses offices, a classroom, and some archival material, said Rachel Flor, a library spokeswoman.

Everyone evacuated the building in Dorchester safely and no injuries were reported, she said.

“There was a fire, and it’s still unclear how it began,” Flor told reporters. “We did hear something that sounded like an explosion.”

Throughout the afternoon, library officials emphasized the blaze appeared to be a “mechanical fire.”

Well, I'm no conspiracy theorist, and don't claim ANY such specific one re: Boston on Monday...

...Yet...

We are told that the Boston JFK Library fire, which broke out shortly before 3 p.m., was a mechanical failure based fire that didn't have connections to these bombs that went off at 2:50 p.m.

'Twas all just a weird "coinkidink" (??)

Well, there's ONLY ONE WAY to get to the 'bottom' of all this:

I say let's have the government assign a new "Warren Commission" about the JFK Library fire and these two bombs, etc.

I'm sure after a few years' investigation, they'll tell us it was a lone bombster and that the "two bombs" was really "one bomb" that went off and that the ricochets caused the other two locale "incidents."

(Not that I'm a govt. 'fact-finder' skeptic or anything like that...at all...wouldn't think of it)

well, at least Carnival ships were safe at sea , for a day anyway.

Mechanical fire? caused by a failed mechnical device overheating, shorting out circuitry, what was it? HVAC usually run fine for a long time if serviced properly,, maybe another victim of seequestration .. or?

This news will sadden those in the liberal media who contend that the JFK Library being targeted was obvious proof the bombers were evil conservatives.

Never mind that JFK was a fairly conservative democrat.
