Sure they can track by tracing the numbers to the supplier and where is was distributed. Then they will find who bought from distributed stores. Who buys two PC’s on the same day, perhaps? Did they use a debit/credit card? CCTV in store of purchaser.

That might work if the store only sold one cooker. Otherwise, they'd have to record the serial number of each cooker sold and link it back to sale date/time. And the video would need not be not yet erased.

Anyone with half a brain would buy it from WallyWorld with cash and wait a few weeks for the loop tapes or hard drives to erase over, then what?
