Theres a little more to this story and it was supplied Monday when he did an interview on the Lynn Woolley show.
A passing motorist called in about a man with a gun and an officer was dispatched. When the officer rolled up the soldier had the AR strapped across the front of his chest and before questioning the officer took the AR from him. It was at that point the soldier grabbed the AR back out of the officers hands, the officer drew his own weapon and held the soldier at gunpoint until another unit arrived. When the other unit arives they then start to cuff him and thats the point the video starts rolling.
While carring the AR across his chest and walking down a public road is not illegal it did draw attention. What got him arrested was when he grabbed the weapon out of the officers hands and thats where the hindering an investigation charge comes in. Had he not done that he would have been questioned and sent on his way.

I don’t know where you got your information there but it does not match the video. First off the AR was still attached to the guy and secondly, the officers weapon is holstered with the strap secured. You think the officer would have reholster his weapon after drawing it?
What business did the officer have confiscating the weapon in the first place? Is there some Texas law that makes a lawfully held weapon instant police property on demand?
