Out, gay Boston police officer and LGBT Boston Police Department Liaison Javier Pagan is on the cover of the current issue of Sports Illustrated.
The cover photograph captures Pagan and two fellow police officers racing into action to help a fallen marathon runner after the explosions at the Boston Marathon.

I feel like I’m reading Pilgrim’s Progress.
I don’t remember many SI covers but that one was a real hoot. It’s almost as though a group of morons took it over.
He is gay and he is a hero.
The other cops in the Boston PD are also heroes, no matter if they are gay or straight.
We should not glorify a police officer if he is gay, nor should we diminish his service if he is gay.
Is it just my eyes, or is there an extra set of feet to the rear of the gay cop. Meaning someone else is in the photo. May have already been noticed and commented on, but I didn’t see it anywhere. Hmmmmmm

Why is he a hero? What did he do to deserve that recognition other than appear on the cover of SI?
He is a hero just like anyone else in the Boston PD that responded and helped people after the attack.
He happened to be posted there at the time. If he did something above and beyond the call, then yeah, maybe. But to call him a hero because he happened to be there at that time, did what he was paid to do, has his picture on the front of SI and is a sexual deviant...well, let’s just say that I have a different definition of a hero.

The Left’s victim groups need to decide if they want to be “treated like everyone else” as their words allege, or if they want special treatment like their actions indicate. If gay people are the exact same and want equal treatment, then why even point out that one of the cops is gay?
It’s also unbecoming in the midst of an incident where people have died and lost legs to make the focus a gay guy does right story.

I look at that photo and I don’t see cops rushing to help a fallen man. None of them are looking at him. They appear to be rushing past him.
What acts of heroism did he commit?
It is getting to the point you will have to “come out da closet” to announce you are a heterosexual.
