Parents used to teach values.

I think there’s a correlation.

In the 50s and 60 the parents who taught values would not have accepted anything less from TV. Its why shows like The Any Griffith show and Sterling’s Twilight show did so well.

Yes, exactly... parents teach values. They still do, really. It’s a question of what values do they teach. TV only reflects and reinforces the social values of the time. I’m an adult and there are no small children in my house, so I do enjoy some TV! I can actually watch a show and disagree with the point of view and still enjoy the show. But that’s just me... didn’t have TV until I was 8 so I guess it’s always been a fascination.
