Complete speculation here and I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but I think we may be looking at a Richard Jewell type-scenario. Given that Richard Jewell was, in fact, innocent, the authorities are going radio silent on this until they have something concrete.
How come we haven’t yet heard the conspiracy theories? No leads, zero intel. Could it be an inside job, for sinister of sinister political gain yet to come when the right-wing extremist is found...would make the writers of 24 jealous.

Since no one is claiming credit, I'm beginning to suspect that this could be a lone nutjob, like the Sandy Hook killer.
Our law enforcement is the best; but I’m a little concerned that this nut is going to get away with this.
Not a lot of confidence when the FBI is pleading for help. I think that is fine and appropriate, but it is coming across as desparate. I really fear they have nothing.
I guess we watch too much TV (24, Homeland) and think these things always get solved. Let’s pray this guy slipped up somewhere.
