Someone tell me where I am wrong. The second amendment is part of the US Constitution. Any changes or amendments to the constitution must be approved by a two thirds majority of the states. Congress has no legal authority to do any thing else.

Background check laws already exist. The problem is the American voter who keeps trading safety for freedom by re-electing the same unconstitutional retreads. If America wants a Constitutional gov’t, elect Constitutional leaders. If you want to take my gun away, take me to court were I am afforded discovery and due process. The majority of voters throw away their rights because of a mistaken belief that filling out paperwork and waiting x days is a reasonable solution to getting a gun. Where is the discovery and due process when there is voluntary information you provide to a bureaucracy that could give two craps about the Constitution. The gov’t has no reason to have this information in the first place because there has been no crime committed. Notice that criminals just go get the gun and have more freedom than you.
