WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is sending about 200 soldiers from a U.S. Army headquarters unit to Jordan to assist efforts to contain violence along the Syrian border and plan for any operations needed to ensure the safety of chemical weapons in Syria, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel told Congress Wednesday.
The decision to dispatch the 1st Armored Division troops of planners and specialists in intelligence, logistics and operations comes as several lawmakers pressed the Obama administration for even more aggressive steps to end the two-year civil war.
Hagel and Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, faced persistent questions from senior members of the Armed Services Committee about efforts to force out Syrian President Bashar Assad. The Pentagon leaders made clear that the situation is extremely complicated and they must be certain of the endgame before any military step to try to end the bloodshed.
"You better be damned sure. No-fly zone, safe zone. Once you're in, you can't unwind it," Hagel said.
Dempsey said he has spent a significant portion of his adult life trying to figure out the Mideast. "This is the toughest of all," he said.
Hagel said the fresh troops will replace a similar number of U.S. forces that have been in Jordan for some months. They also will provide leadership personnel that could command additional forces if it's determined they are needed in the future.

Hagel's announcement comes ahead of his trip next week to Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Separately, Secretary of State John Kerry will be traveling to Turkey and Dempsey will visit China to discuss the situation in Syria.

Jordan is a local headquarters of the Soros network, which has been going gangbusters throughout the mideast for a long time, pushing new world order agenda.
Much of the network’s activity is funded by grants it receives from USAID (read the American taxpayer).
Keep in mind that the State Department and CIA are inextricably intertwined.
The assembly of the rest of the pieces of this puzzle is left as an exercise for the reader.

This is an interesting development. I was told years ago that part of the trouble then over Lebanon was off shore oil deposits that no one was talking about.

My comment:
Israel is our largest export market in the Middle East. New found oil and gas is opportunity for US oil production companies (Noble,Genie,etc) and investment firms, and Israel will spend their new found wealth with someone, why not us? The Petro-Dollar cycle is an added bonus if Israel will price their gas in USD when sold to Europe. In return, we (NATO/UN aka US) shoulder even more of the defense of Israel, which relieves some of Israel's IDF expenses, which lessons their current economic woes.
Thus the sudden re-emergence of interest in "peace and security" for the land of "milk and honey". And it is why this little blip from Hagel may fit into the overall scheme of things going on behind the scenes.
The god of money will overpower ideological and religious differences for a period of time in the region, and world, for everyone's mutual benefit. Then the God of Creation will trump the god of money. I'm looking forward to that.

To understand the mideast behind the scenes, one actually should start all the way back with what international banking (IB) did to England relating to forming the Bank of England and working itself into the British peerage and politics. One needs to get the basic idea of IB and how it uses war and geopolitical intrigue. Then roll forward through the next two centuries (17th and 18th): the setup of eventual American conflict with the profitable slave trade (the future political implications of which could hardly be lost on IB), IB hegemony in Africa under the flags of the various empires, where Africa was the plaything of empires and the well-connected financiers of IB, and even Asia. While the government officials came and went, IB’s players were all invited into their roles by mentors who went before them, like some sort of perpetual club, which gives them more inter-generational staying power than aristocracy that is inherited strictly by birth and thus subject to the contraints of just how capable the succeeding generations are.
At that point one can make sense of seeing Britain and the Continental empires - prodded by IB’s recursive and simultaneous laying of groundwork for control and generation of profits - repeating the general pattern in the mideast at the beginning of the 20th century. The setup of a situation characterized by moral conundrum coupled with the most powerful level of emotions leaves IB with political and business levers easily exploitable by them for generations, and one that is held in place by a seemingly intractable political challenge. IB’s strategic transnational positioning in various governments, central banks and industries allows it to both profit and maintain its control of society’s leadership when things go well, badly or are unstable - both in political and economic terms. From IB’s perspective, the unstable mideast is the gift that keeps on giving to them.
It’s difficult for most people to understand IB’s use of war, since most people intuitively think of war as the ending of a nation. It is an end as far as we can see, a demise. It’s the end of life as we know it. And it’s so disheartening, we have all we can do to muster the will to somehow go on in the midst of defeat and rubble.
But to IB, they know that there is a rebuilding after a war and there is a reshuffling of national status. There are changes in what industries operate in what nations, there is “aid” to be distributed, there are borders that are shifted. There is invariably looting during the war, and black market operations; these translate into business connections and operations that can be beneficial to IB after a war. There are reparations to be made after a war and government loans to be repaid. And there is the inevitable buildup of armaments to stave off future defeats. There are always technological advancements during wars, and some of these are invariably commercialized in peacetime. National governments and leaderships are shuffled and replaced, providing glaring opportunities for the ambitious IB mover and shaker to fill slots with his own people. Given the “fog of the ending of a war”, the chaos allows IB to operate within nations where the public is almost oblivious to IB’s moves. To paraphrase an old comedy: there’s no such thing as a ghetto, it’s just a pre-redevelopment. An analagous statement could be made about IB’s attitude towards war.
To have a section of the globe that has continual conflict - that’s a veritable goldmine opportunity for IB.

Although I do not disagree that indeed may be the game being played, this tells me something. The IB is insane.
Then I changed my mind and realized we should hang all the bankers first.
Then I realized the root of our problems was within ourselves, our Adamic fallen nature.

There were some aspects to the article at that link that I had issues with; I like to keep things simple when dealing with this stuff. Also, I try to be very careful about drawing any Scriptural conclusions and I try to filter out any conclusions, express or implied, that conflict with Scripture (based on a Westminster Confession-based interpretation).
The sophistication and size of the thing means that it will take me quite a while to get through it.
That all being said, it was very thought-provoking and I’ll explore it as time permits.
