It's understandable that losing a child to murder would cause parents to react in an emotional, knee-jerk way. We expect it from them; that's what they do. But it's incumbent on those who have not lost a child to murder to see things in the clear light of reason.

It’s also understandable in how those parents or family memembers were upset about what happen in Benghazi and the cover up that followed.

It's the definition of "mentally ill" and "dangerous people" that's the issue and a lot of the time it just ends up being those people who don't agree with them.They're the mentally ill and dangerous folks.
Unfortunately a lot of folks will just see the teary moms and the kids and hear "dangerous people and "mentally ill people" and "guns" in one big emotional fog.

Perhaps I should say I support more money for mental health and some mechanism whereby a mother, like Lanza’s, could have her son evaluated. I wouldn’t support mental health tests as a prerequisite for gun ownership.
