McVeigh was one of their own. He was not a Christian Conservative and his dad was a union goon. Like father, like son. Plus there's the well-documented between McVeigh, Nichols and muzzies is explained in a number of threads here on Free Republic.
Not that the SOB deserved it, but it was a bit odd how anti-death penalty activists were silent when Tim McVeigh was put on death row, not to mention how he was fast-tracked to his ultimate execution. Other than a few Jesuits outside the prison on the day of his execution doing a lackluster rendition of Jesus carrying the cross, there were no meaningful protests or appeals to commute his sentence. Isn’t that strange?
You know that. I know that. But nearly everyone else in the country (that have actually heard of him), McVeigh is the poster boy for “right wing domestic terrorist”. The media did their job well on that one.
I was going to interject that as well.
McVeigh was also an atheist. One may 'like' the poem Invictus -- but for someone to have that read as their last words as they are marching off into eternity -- they are clearly 'without Christ, having no hope, and without God in this world'. Sure, McVeigh was 'master of his fate, and captain of his soul' ... I'm sure Satan had a great laugh at this guy who shipwrecked his own soul trying to tell him how he was a great captain ...
