As far as Where Did The Explosives/Guns Come From: If I was a cop looking for that stuff, I do believe that my first gaze would fall upon our fabulous Swiss Cheese border with Mexico and the people busily bringing stuff like that into this country.
...but that would only last until the feds responsible for securing that border started to feel exposed by their own malfeasance enough to run off and start trying to rape the 2nd Amendment again (Plus informing my Chief that I was being Unhelpful and that I should go away and shut up.).
(Makes me kinda wonder exactly how many good cops have heard exactly that same thing over the past couple of days...)
