The Sikhs are a peaceful people. Are there some who took to violence? Yes, in response to the oppression that has been visited upon them, much like the repression that is being visited upon Indian Christians.

"If you really want to clear the incidents quickly, take vans down to the Indian High Commission and the consulates in Toronto and Vancouver, load up everybody and take them down for questioning. We know it and they know it that they are involved." (It comes from the Canadian Security Investigation Service.
Remember that the two main accused in the bombing, Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri, were acquitted because the evidence against them was ruled "not credible." To quote CBC: "Justice Ian Bruce Josephson of the British Columbia Supreme Court said he simply did not believe the testimony of witnesses who linked the men to the two bombs."
The Khalistan movement is a freedom movement, one of many within India, and its leaders are committed to liberating Khalistan by peaceful, democratic, nonviolent means.
India is not America's friend. It consistently opposes us on foreign policy.
