This is illegal. He committed no federal crime (constitution doesn’t allow for it unless he’s being charged with Treason).

That won’t stop them from following the law though which is a shame.

One day they’ll come for us.

No, there are firearms and explosives statutes that overlap. They could actually start with a RICO prosecution and go from there.

I’m pretty sure that one of the “terrorist” type statutes that was passed since 9-11 gives the feds the authority to step in. Somebody reading this post can probably enlighten us.

Much like when an FDIC insured bank is robbed the state or the feds will take jurisdiction based on who has the better case and/or penalties.

Actually, he could be tried twice, once under federal and once under state law and receive two different sentences. But it becomes redundant.
