Woman arrested for spraying abortion activists with holy water, appears in court

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama, April 19, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – An elderly woman who allegedly sprayed pro-abortion activists with holy water appeared in court this week to answer to misdemeanor harassment charges.

Joyce Fecteau, who is in her seventies, was arrested outside the facility in January after pro-abortion demonstrators Lisa Cox and Katherine Norlin accused Fecteau of spraying them with an “unknown substance."

The pair said the incident occurred December 22 on the sidewalk outside the “Alabama Women's Center for Reproductive Alternatives” abortion business in Huntsville, while they were escorting a woman inside.

Fecteau said that she sprayed the holy water because another one of the pro-abortion demonstrators was burning a “smudge stick” – a bundle of sage and other dried herbs frequently used in New Age, pagan, and Shamanist rituals.

Fecteau said the smoke was billowing into her face.

“I had been told repeatedly by my health care provider not to breathe in that smoke because it’s making me sick,” she said after her arrest. “I can't tell if [the holy water] drifted on this lady's face.”

Video footage of the incident appears to show the pro-abortion protester standing near Fecteau holding the smudge stick. Fecteau is seen pointing her spray bottle at the stick and spraying the water.

Fecteau's attorney, Trent Garmon, told the court that his client "had no intent to annoy, harass or alarm."

Cox and Norlin both expressed concerns that they did not know what was in the bottle.

Garmon told the court that in a video of the incident taken by Fecteau's husband, someone can be heard mocking the spraying, saying, "Oh, holy water! It burns!"

The police officer that was called to the scene testified that Fecteau had never displayed agressive behavior while protesting outside the clinic. He said that the pro-abortion protesters had told him they thought the bottle might contain vegetable oil, but that he verified that it was water.

According to WHNT, if convicted Fecteau faces a potential maximum sentence of three months in jail and a $500 fine on each count of harassment.

The case will resume on April 26 at 8:30 am.

This is a clear act of violence directed against agents of Satan. The smudge stick is a widely recognized token of ritual sacrifice in demonic cults.
Did the little old lady not know that the water, blessed by Christ, would burn into the souls of those whom it touched? Has she no mercy for these dedicated souls of Satan? Can’t we all just get along?
In order to maintain its absolute objectivity the court will have no choice but to find her guilty and determine appropriate punishment. She could be required to listen to Planned Parenthood speeches. She might be required to assist in a ritual abortion. At the very least she needs to be locked up to consider the implications of her transgressions.
This brave little old lady faces prison for her moral courage. We are a demonic society, punishing good with evil. The wrath of God will be without mercy.

Hey...it works well on Vampires, at least in every vampire movie I’ve seen.

Unless you are a demented, murdering, blood sucking, pro-serial killer...the water is harmless.

These demented, murdering, blood sucking, pro-serial killer parasites, have full protection of the law, while the bearer of water, gets persecuted, by the law.

The new normal!

Ask for a jury trial.

Hopefully she demanded a jury trial instead of trusting her fate to a judge.

Is “holy water” available at Wally Mart, or did she get it by mail order?

Holes can be made in water, (in it's solid state.) It's actually quite common in the frozen north.

It’s blessed by a priest, sometimes locally but it’s also sold bottled if I’m not mistaken.

I’m good friends with a family who own and operate the oldest Greek restaurant in town. Fun people, love them, just don’t get them PO’ed about something, wow, very dramatic, lol.

I’m especially fond of the mama, who came over from Greece, still a thick accent, she hates communists, helped her father fight them, staunch conservative, devoutly religious. Greek Orthodox, something of a mystic in her understanding.

I was building a new house, she insisted on sprinkling holy water on the foundation so I’d have a safe, happy home blessed by our Creator. I couldn’t possibly have turned her down, even though I don’t put faith in such things. Her love and her intentions, I did value though. It still makes me smile to remember it.

She’s in her eighties now and her health is failing. Her time here is drawing to a close, and that saddens me. But, this southern evangelical is as certain of life everlasting for her as I’ve ever been for anyone.

Holy water is simply any water that has been blessed by a priest. I recall a pro-lifer, who worked as a hairdresser, relate how she would fill her salon spray bottle with holy water. Her pro-choice customers had no idea their heads were being sprayed with the blessed water ; - )

Her pro-choice death customers had no idea their heads were being sprayed with the blessed water

And that act didn't accomplish anything real.
